The municipality has overall responsibility in the field of social and medico-social action. As such, its mission is to support and assist the most vulnerable on a daily basis in order to combat all forms of exclusion, reduce inequalities and facilitate access to rights.

  1. What is the municipality’s social action?

His social action It essentially concerns the allocation of aid and relief to the poor and needy through:

  • Immediate and timely public assistance: medical, educational, food and basic necessities; legal assistance, assistance with family reunification.
  • Sustained public assistance: aid in adapted equipment and devices, socio-economic support.

This is :

  • People with physical, mental, visual, speech and hearing disabilities;
  • People with multiple disabilities ;
  • Minor children born to disabled, indigent or needy parents;
  • People who, due to their condition, are unable to participate in productive income-generating efforts;
  • People who have become temporarily disabled due to unforeseen circumstances.
  1. What are the constituent elements of the Dossier?
  • An unstamped request on plain paper addressed to the Mayor via the social center or the social action service of the municipality in question;
  • Supporting documents for the application, including, where applicable, a medical prescription issued by a sworn doctor, one or more pro forma invoices, a medical certificate, one or more photos, or any other relevant document;
  • A photocopy of the national disability card or a medical certificate attesting to the disability and indicating the applicant’s disability rate, for disabled persons;
  • A photocopy of the national identity card; a certificate of residence issued by the competent authority attesting that the applicant resides in the municipality of jurisdiction.
  1. What are the steps involved in processing the application?
  • A social inquiry is carried out by a social worker from the social center of the municipality in the jurisdiction;
  • Drafting of the investigation report with reasoned opinion and transmission of said report to the competent Mayor;
  • Issuance of a certificate of indigence which may entitle the person to aid or assistance;
  • Selection of beneficiaries of aid and relief by the Municipal Committee for the allocation of aid and relief;
  • Provision of aid and assistance according to their nature.
