The Zhoa Municipality in Cameroon’s North West Region is a vibrant hub of cultural diversity, and this is clearly reflected in the variety of languages spoken by its inhabitants. The primary languages spoken in the Zhoa Municipality are those of its constituent ethnic groups.
The Tikar language holds a significant place, reflecting the origins of the Zhoa people. Alongside Tikar, Mbororo (Akus) is also widely spoken within the municipality.
Beyond these major languages, a rich collection of other local dialects contributes to the linguistic landscape of Zhoa. These include Mmen, Zhoa (the language), Ngun, Menkaf, Esu, Buu, Fang, Mundabili, Munken, Marshi, Abar, and Aku.
